This is a very useful tool set to own because it is required in the assembly or disassembly of many items. If you are putting together a piece of Ikea furniture for instance, Ikea will often include a chintzy, shorter-than-necessary hex key; in cases like this, it is nice to have your own. They are also quite useful when fixing bikes, doing small repairs on your car, and tuning up power tools.
